Scouts BSA Summer Camp - Your Adventure Awaits!
Our week-long resident summer camp for Scouts BSA is packed with incredible opportunities to learn, grow, and explore—offered at two amazing camps: Camp Liberty and Camp Freedom. Both camps provide the same outstanding program, with over 50 merit badges to choose from, a First Year Camper Program to build essential skills, and access to our stunning 270-acre lake with aquatics areas for swimming, boating, and water adventures. The key difference lies in how you’ll enjoy your meals: Camp Liberty offers a Patrol Style cooking experience, fostering teamwork and culinary creativity, while Camp Freedom features a traditional dining hall experience, so Scouts can focus more on their activities. Plus, Scouts aged 14 and older can go beyond merit badges and take on our thrilling High Adventure Day Trek Program. Whether you choose Liberty or Freedom, your summer adventure will be one to remember!
High Adventure Day Trek Program at Eagle Base!
For Scouts 14 and older seeking the ultimate adventure, our High Adventure Day Trek Program delivers an action-packed experience like no other! Each day offers a new and exciting challenge, including caving and spelunking, canoeing and kayaking on nearby Yough Lake, white-water rafting on the Lower Youghiogheny River, sporting clays, zip-lining, and more. Scouts start their mornings with breakfast alongside their units before heading to the Eagle's Nest at 8:45 AM to embark on their daily adventure. Midday, they’ll share lunch with fellow adventurers before returning to camp for dinner with their units. The program is flexible, allowing Scouts to mix Day Trek adventures with merit badge sessions on different days. For entire units interested in dedicating their summer camp experience to the Day Trek Program, we offer special pricing options to make it easier than ever to embrace the adventure. Prepare for a summer of unparalleled excitement and unforgettable memories!
Cub Scout Resident Camp at Camp Independence: Passport to Adventure!
Cub Scout Resident Camp at Camp Independence is the perfect summer getaway, offering programs tailored to Cub Scouts, Webelos, and Arrow of Light Scouts. This year, we’re excited to offer weekend sessions from Friday to Sunday for entire packs to enjoy together, as well as special extended sessions from Thursday to Sunday designed specifically for Webelos and Arrow of Light Scouts. Each session is packed with age-specific activities that bring the excitement of scouting to life, including swimming and boating at our dedicated aquatics area, target practice at our BB gun and shooting sports ranges, and plenty of other hands-on adventures. Camp Independence features its own dining hall, where Scouts and their families can enjoy delicious meals while sharing stories of the day’s excitement. With this summer’s theme, *Passport to Adventure*, Scouts will explore the world through thrilling challenges and activities, all while creating unforgettable memories. Get ready for a weekend full of fun, discovery, and adventure!
